Having Chronicle for Mac is great. It’s an outstanding bill manager and works seamlessly with the Mac OS environment. In fact, what makes it even better is the iOS companion app, Chronicle for iOS.

Being able to take Chronicle with you everywhere can help you when you’re on the go and need to submit a payment. Chronicle makes it possible for you to never forget a bill or be late on a payment again. LittleFin, LLC, Chronicle’s developer, has designed a very clean, very functional iOS companion app for the bill manager software, which is perfect for me, because I take my iPhone with me wherever I go.

Like the Mac version of Chronicle, iOS users can add new bills, mark bills as paid, create notes for yourself for individual bills, and view the calendar to see when you have payments to be made. Chronicle gives users a notification when a bill is due and the ability to make payments from the app. By clicking on the link added by you in the app, you can visit your payment URL. Chronicle will not make bill payments for you, but it will prompt you to do so.

The best part about the Chronicle family of apps is that they utilize iCloud or Dropbox for syncing. This was a feature that was very important to me because I like to keep my file sources and backups as neat as possible. I don’t like to scatter them around several cloud-based services. So, having a bill reminder that was functional with iCloud syncing is great. Additionally, Chronicle also works reciprocally with 1Password. This allows users to access their stored passwords from 1Password from within Chronicle.

Also like the Mac version, Chronicle for iOS includes a Calendar view for payments. It keeps track of payment history so that as you pay your bills and mark them ‘paid’, Chronicle will log the information for future reference.

I’m a big fan of well designed apps and Chronicle is definitely one of my favorites. I enjoy it when developers make apps that are clean and easy to understand.
